Allied Defence Ministers to gather at NATO Headquarters
NATO Defence Ministers will come to Brussels on 11-12 June, for their first formal meeting after the Strasbourg/Kehl Summit. They will discuss key challenges related to NATO’s operations, particularly Afghanistan and Kosovo, and the Alliance’s defence transformation efforts.

Successes in Uzbeen Valley, Afghanistan
Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops completed a highly successful joint operation in the Uzbeen Valley, Kabul province, on 4 June. The operation involved ANSF troops, supported by ISAF, securing the Uzbeen Valley and clearing the area of insurgents.

Finland and NATO sign agreement on defence technology cooperation
On 9 June, Finland and the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation in key defence technology areas.
Finland is a long-standing participant in the NATO Partnership for Peace programme with a strong track record of contributing to NATO missions and exercises.
