It was one of the best kept secrets in Apple but not any longer. We talking about the ambitious iCloud store system, of course by Apple.

We all know about the big data center Apple is building in North Carolina.  It’s so huge, it can actually be seen from outer space and Google maps. Imagine all of our music being stored there and being able to stream that music to all of our devices without having to sinking our devices, no more plugging our iPhone. Our music will “live” in Apple’s data center in North Carolina. So all of our music can be easily retrieved from that center.

But let’s think largely about that…. The iCloud is a system to connect it all, the terrain to connect everything, if of course that’s what apple is finally going to do.  Only recently it managed to take the fourth music label on board: Universal Music. Google and Amazon didn’t manage to do that, which means that they are still tied up with licensing with all of these major records labels to allow consumers to stream music and not being in copyright violation.

How far can the iCloud go remains to be seen.  But what if we could easily stream not only music but even movies?  The iCloud could become the first and real Netfix’s competitor.

Many question whether Apple is about to become victim of its own success. With the new iPhone not coming before the fall and people expecting so many things, it’s not so unlikely to actually see them backfiring.  And that’s why perhaps Apple gave a press release last week revealing the big “secret” about the iCloud.
