ANDREA JOHN CATSIMATIDIS WEDS CHRISTOPHER NIXON COX
IN NEW YORK CITY CEREMONY
New York, NY-June 8…The daughter and son of two political and philanthropic families, Andrea John Catsimatidis and Christopher Nixon Cox, were married on Saturday, June 4 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manhattan.
Mrs. Catsimatidis-Cox, 21, is the daughter of John and Margo Catsimatidis of New York City. Mr. Catsimatidis is Chairman and CEO of the Red Apple Group, Gristedes Foods, and the Red Apple Group subsidiary, United Refining Company. Mrs. Catsimatidis is publisher of The Hellenic Times and the founder of MCV Advertising Associates. Mr. and Mrs. Catsimatidis are well-known philanthropists and political donors, who have contributed to both Republican and Democratic candidates and office holders across the country.
Mr. Cox, 32, is the son of Patricia Nixon Cox, daughter of the late President Richard M. Nixon, and Edward Finch Cox, Chairman of the New York Republican State Committee. The father of the groom has served as Chairman of the Corporate Department and a member of the Management Committee of the law firm of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. In 2008, Cox was named in Super Lawyers in the area of Securities & Corporate Finance and his firm was ranked third on The American Lawyer’s 2008 “A-List” of leading law firms in the United States. Mrs. Cox serves on the boards of several foundations which contribute to medical research and other causes. She also serves on the board of the Richard Nixon Foundation.
The wedding took place almost 40 years to the day after the groom’s parents were married in a White House Rose Garden ceremony.
Following Saturday’s ceremony, a reception and dinner for more than 700 guests were held in the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Family members present included the groom’s great uncles Edward Nixon and Edward Finch, as well as his parents’ siblings Julie Nixon Eisenhower, Howard Cox, and Mazie Cox.

Mr. Cox served as Senator John McCain’s Executive Director for New York State during the 2008 presidential campaign and is co-founder of the consulting firm, OC Global Partners, LLC where he advises US companies on selling their products in new markets abroad and bringing in capital allowing them to expand their business and grow their workforce in America.
Previously, Cox was a corporate associate at the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges in their New York office where he worked in the Private Equity Group. During his tenure, he advised major private equity fund clients on acquisitions. Cox also worked for the rights of New York State small business owners in Albany on a pro-bono basis. He was a Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s First Congressional District in 2010. Mrs. Catsimatidis-Cox is President of the New York University Republican Club and active in numerous New York civic and philanthropic endeavors. The couple will live in New York.
