The brutal Saudi history continues

Saudi chopper massacres civilians on-board refugee boat destined for Sudan, 42 killed

BEIRUT, LEBANON – A Saudi Apache Helicopter reportedly struck a Somalian refugee boat traveling from Yemen’s coastal waters to Sudan on Friday, killing at least 42 civilians in the process.

The attack was reported off the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, which is located along Yemen’s western coast.

At least 80 refugees carrying papers from the UN’s refugee agency (UNHCR) were rescued off the coast of Yemen today.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense has not commented on this latest attack; however, human rights groups have already begun issuing statements condemning the Kingdom’s actions on Friday.

Saudi warplanes have a history of striking refugees in Yemen, including a brutal attack on the Al-Mazraq Camp inside the city of Harad in March 2015.
