This cultural event will take place in Xanthi, on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July, 2013
The efforts of hundreds of volunteers who have been working enthusiastically for the success of the 3-day cultural festival in Thrace continue intensively: Representatives of the Coordinating Committee (Evangelos Rigos, director of the Hellenic Electronic Center, Manolis Petrakis, president of the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Cretan Clubs, and Marios Gortaganis, president of the Pan-Thracian Federation of South Greece) visited Xanthi on March 12 and 13.
They met with the adjutant mayor of Xanthi, who is responsible for cultural events in the region; the Asst. Regional Governor of Xanthi; the organizers of the festival (Lykeion of Xanthi and Filoproodos Union of Xanthi); the Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Theodore Karaoglou, and many more.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of all the volunteers who have been working to organize this big event, we have secured the participation of 20 dance groups from Thrace and 14 dance groups from outside Thrace. In addition, other important issues related to the Festival have been taken care of (for instance the festival has been placed under the auspices of the ministry of Macedonia-Thrace).
Planning and executing such an important cultural event which intends to turn into a successful institution in Thrace requires not only many and efficient volunteers but also the active support from all of us. Donations are invaluable, no matter how small!
