Summer School Courses Offered under the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies University of the Peloponnese in Kalamata

"30 days free summer school and vacation in Messinia"

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Faculties of the University of the Peloponnese in Kalamata, in collaboration with the World Confederation of Messinians Abroad, the Pan-Messinian Federation of U.S.A. and Canada, and the Pan-Australian Federation of Messinian Organizations, is organizing for the second year in a row free summer courses for 50 students (ages 17-25) of Messinian descent and for 10 schoolteachers (student chaperones) from the U.S., Canada and/or Australia who teach in Greek schools.

The duration of the summer course is approximately one month, from July 2-27, 2007.

Courses that will be taught include: Greek language, Greek history, and Greek civilization. Courses will be taught by specialized university professors who are knowledgeable in the English language, through the use of modern audiovisual equipment and specialized courses, for second, third and fourth generation children of the Greek Diaspora.

Lodging and food will be provided for students free of charge.

Airfare and travel arrangements are the responsibility of the participating student.

The Pan-Messinian Federation of U.S.A. and Canada will contribute the sum of $350.00 towards each student's airline ticket.

Throughout the duration of the summer school, participating students will have the opportunity to not only take part in educational excursions and to visit the sites and historical monuments of the prefecture of Messinia, but also to swim in and enjoy the most beautiful beaches – all completely free of charge.

Λειτουργία Θερινού Σχολείου στην Σχολή Ανθρωπιστικών Επιστημών και Πολιτισμικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστήμιου Πελοποννήσου στην Καλαμάτα.

ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΗ

Οι Σχολές του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου στην Καλαμάτα και ο Δήμος Καλαμάτας σε συνεργασία με την Παγκόσμια Συνομοσπονδία Αποδήμων Μεσσηνίων, τη Παμμεσσηνιακή Ομοσπονδία Η.Π.Α και Καναδά. και με την Παναυστραλιανή Ομοσπονδία Μεσσηνιακών Οργανισμών, οργανώνουν για δεύτερη φορά δωρεάν θερινά μαθήματα για 50 παιδιά (ηλικίας 17-27 ετών) Μεσσηνίων Ομογενών και 10 επιτόπιους δασκάλους (Συνοδοί τους)που διδάσκουν σε Ελληνικά σχολεία.
Διάρκεια του Σχολείου είναι περίπου ένας μήνας από 2 μέχρι 27 Ιουλίου.
Τα μαθήματα που θα διδαχθούν θα είναι: Ελληνική γλώσσα, Ελληνική Ιστορία και Ελληνικός Πολιτισμός. Την διδασκαλία των μαθημάτων θα πραγματοποιήσουν εξειδικευμένοι Καθηγητές Πανεπιστημίων γνώστες της Αγγλικής γλώσσας, με σύγχρονα οπτικοακουστικά μέσα και με μαθήματα ειδικά, για παιδιά ομογενών δεύτερης, τρίτης και τέταρτης γενιάς.
Η παραμονή και η διατροφή των παιδιών θα είναι δωρεάν
Τα εισιτήρια επιβαρύνουν τους μαθητές.
Η Παμμεσσηνιακή Ομοσπονδία Η.Π.Α και Καναδά θα συμβάλει στην αγορά του εισιτηρίου με το ποσό των $350 00 δολαρίων για κάθε μαθητή.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του σχολείου θα δοθεί η ευκαιρία στα παιδιά να πραγματοποιήσουν εκπαιδευτικές εκδρομές και να επισκεφθούν τα αξιοθέατα και ιστορικά μνημεία του νομού Μεσσηνίας αλλά και τις ποιο όμορφες παραλίες για θαλάσσια μπάνια και διασκέδαση εντελώς δωρεάν.
