NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer visited the Ecole Militaire in Paris where he delivered an address at the conference “France, European Defence and NATO in the 21st century”, organised by the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique, under the patronage of the President of the French Republic.

US Vice President consults with allies on Afghanistan

The Vice-president of the United States, Joseph Biden, met today with the North Atlantic Council to discuss the main challenges ahead inAfghanistan and consult with NATO allies on the ongoing US strategic policy review towards Afghanistan and Pakistan.

NATO and partners focus on Comprehensive Approach

Senior representatives from NATO met with their counterparts from 41 partner countries and non-NATO troop contributing nations at the Alliance's headquarters in Brussels on 6 March, to discuss how NATO contributes to a Comprehensive Approach, namely how to improve the coherent application of its crisis management instruments and better cooperate with other actors in order to complement and mutually reinforce each others’ efforts.
