The National Council will convene today to complete its discussions on the course of the negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem. Today's meeting, which will begin at 4.30 p.m., will be a continuation of last Tuesday's meeting, during which "Some parties expressed their views on the document submitted at the previous meeting of the National Council concerning the negotiation on the chapter of governance, and various issues raised were answered", according to statements by the Government Spokesman Mr Stefanos Stefanou following the meeting.

Moreover, today, the two leaders' representatives will continue the discussions they began in their meeting of last Friday. According to statements by the Special Adviser of the UN Secretary-General in Cyprus Mr Alexander Downer, Messrs Iacovou and Nami, who discussed on Friday, 13 March, legal issues in relation to the EU, will meet again today to continue their discussions, while tomorrow they will present to the leaders a relevant Report.

On the same day, the leaders of the two communities will hold their 23rd meeting, during which they will consider the work that will have been done and they will continue their discussion on EU matters, which they began on 11 March.
