Dinos Ralis is one of the outstanding personalities in the Greek-American community, having amassed a lengthy, and enviable, record of achievement in business and public volunteer service. He is also my friend. It grieves me, therefore, to read in a public electronic medium a report that he was attacked in the most hedious manner by compatriot and Greek media tycoon Dimitris Kastanas! Such characterizations are beyond the pale, demeaning the perpetrator beyond the already low esteem in which he is held from the machinations surrounding the recent, and unhappily unsuccessful annual Greek Independence Day Parade.

It is know that he was a last-minute substitute as an additional honoree, and the selection committee could not have erred more dramatically, as events unforlded! Without relitigating those days, there is enough blame for the phantom march to go around, I join those of good will requesting that Dimitris Kastanas immediately, and publicly issue twin apologies: to the person he intended to hurt by his intemperate speech, and the Greek-American community for, once again, having been ill-served by one of our own.
