Ο Οζντίλ Ναμί!
Σχόλιο της Φανούλας Αργυρού στο δημοσίευμα του Forbes
Το γνωστό και φημισμένο αμερικανικό έντυπο Forbes δημοσίευσε στις 17 Μαρτίου 2014 το πιο κάτω άρθρο ενός αυτο-διαφημιζόμενου Αμερικανού συνεργάτη του ονόματι Ρίτσιαρτ Μίνιτερ, στο οποίο προβάλει τον Τουρκοκύπριο Οζντίλ Ναμί ως … υπ. Εξωτερικών της Κύπρου! Σ΄αυτό ακριβώς το ελεεινογράφημα αναφέρεται σήμερα και ο αγαπητός βετεράνος δημοσιογράφος/αρθρογράφος Σάββας Ιακωβίδης στη Σημερινή με τον χαρακτηριστικό και σαρκαστικό τίτλο « Ποιος είναι ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών της Κύπρου; Ο Οζντίλ Ναμί!».
Στη συνέχεια παραθέτω δική μου επιστολή διαμαρτυρίας που έστειλα χθές στην διεύθυνση του Forbes καθώς και σχόλιο που στάλθηκε προς αυτό από τον δικηγόρο Νικόλα Καραμπελά στην Ουάσιγκτον.

Μην εκπλήττεσθε! Προπάντων, μη διερωτάσθε τι πάθαμε. Ούτε γιατί γράψαμε τον πιο πάνω τίτλο. Δεν είναι προβοκάτσια ούτε… υπονόμευση της κυβέρνησης Αναστασιάδη και του συμπαθούς Ι. Κασουλίδη. Χθες, εκλεκτός φίλος που παρακολουθεί ανελλιπώς τον ξένο Τύπο, μας έστειλε ένα κείμενο κάποιου Richard Miniter, που υποστηρίζει ότι ερευνά την εξωτερική πολιτική και θέματα εθνικής ασφάλειας.
Κανονικά δεν θα ασχολούμασταν μαζί του αν το κείμενό του δεν δημοσιευόταν στο έγκυρο και διεθνώς γνωστό οικονομικό περιοδικό «Forbes» με τίτλο: «Obama’s Secret Weapon Against Putin’s Crimea Vote?».
Αυτός ο R. Miniter συναντήθηκε, όπως γράφει, με τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών της Κύπρου λίγες ώρες μετά τις επαφές του με το Συμβούλιο Εθνικής Ασφαλείας των ΗΠΑ. Και ποιος είναι ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών της Κύπρου που, όπως επισημαίνει ο Αμερικανός, κάθισε μαζί του και κουβέντιασε για το μυστικό όπλο του Ομπάμα κατά του Πούτιν; Ο Οζντίλ Ναμί!
Μειδιάτε; Χαμογελάτε; Οργίζεστε; Υπάρχει και συνέχεια. Ο Αμερικανός δημοσιογράφος γράφει πως ο… υπουργός Εξωτερικών μας, Ναμί, του είπε πως «τώρα υπάρχει μια νέα αίσθηση αισιοδοξίας» στην Κύπρο. Αφού εξηγεί πως η Ευρώπη είναι εν πολλοίς εξαρτημένη από το ρωσικό φυσικό αέριο, ο καλός μας… υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Ναμί, του εξήγησε ότι έχουμε ανακαλύψει τεράστιες ποσότητες αερίου που, μαζί με το ισραηλινό αέριο, μπορούν να απεξαρτήσουν την Ευρώπη από τη Ρωσία.
Ο… υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Ναμί, όπως γράφει ο Αμερικανός, έπαιξε ένα ρόλο-κλειδί στις συνομιλίες μεταξύ 2008-2010 και του είπε ότι υποστηρίζει την εγκατάσταση ενός αγωγού 1 δισεκ. δολαρίων, που θα μεταφέρει αέριο στην Τουρκία και από εκεί στην Ευρώπη. Επίσης, ο… υπουργός Εξωτερικών μας, ενημέρωσε το αμερικανικό σαΐνι για τον αγωγό, που θα μεταφέρει νερό από την Τουρκία στην Κύπρο. Ερωτηθείς για πιθανές εμπλοκές στην εξωτερική πολιτική, ο… υπουργός μας εξήγησε στον Αμερικανό πως η ενέργεια και η οικονομική αλληλεξάρτηση θα προάγουν την ειρήνη μεταξύ Ισραήλ και Τουρκίας και μεταξύ της Ε.Ε. και της Τουρκίας.
Ο Ναμί απέφυγε να απαντήσει αν το φυσικό αέριο της Κύπρου θα κάμψει την τιμολογιακή πολιτική της Ρωσίας αλλά ενημέρωσε το Αμερικανάκι πώς η Τουρκία… ήρθε στην Κύπρο μετά από ένα πραξικόπημα. Έκτοτε, παρατηρείται πολιτική και θρησκευτική ηρεμία στο νησί, που βρίσκεται καθ’ οδόν προς την ενοποίηση και θα γίνει πλήρες (!!!) μέλος της ΕΕ. Ερωτάται ο… υπουργός Εξωτερικών μας, Ναμί, αν η προκοπή της Κύπρου θα βοηθήσει στην τιμωρία του Πούτιν, αλλ’ αυτός είναι πολύ επαγγελματίας για να φάει το δόλωμα… Να οργιστούμε; Να φωνάξουμε από θυμό; Απλώς να θυμηθούμε εκείνη την εξωφρενική δήλωση του Κυβ. Εκπροσώπου, πριν από λίγες ημέρες: Σε ερώτηση αν οι συναντήσεις του ψευτοϋπουργού Ναμί, στην Ουάσιγκτον, αποτελούσαν αναβάθμιση του ψευδοκράτους, είπε:
«Αυτές πρέπει να κρίνονται και με ένα φακό ιστορικότητας. Έχουμε ζήσει όλοι, δυστυχώς, μετά το 2004 μιαν αναβάθμιση της τ/κ κοινότητας, παγκοσμίως. Να υπενθυμίσω τη συνάντηση του Ταλάτ στο Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ μετά το 2004; Να υπενθυμίσω όλες τις συναντήσεις που έγιναν στο πιο ψηλό επίπεδο της ΕΕ; Ας κάνουμε μια σύγκριση και να δούμε αν έχει αλλάξει κάτι τώρα. Θα έλεγα ότι τώρα είναι και καλύτερα, διότι γίνονται με πιο διακριτικό τρόπο».
Καταλάβατε, Κύπρια κορόιδα; Τώρα η αναβάθμιση του Ναμί έγινε διακριτικά, όχι απότομα. Ενώ, λοιπόν, ο Ναμί και ο Οζερσάι αλωνίζουν στις Βρυξέλλες, στην Ουάσιγκτον και στη Βόννη και προβάλλουν τις τουρκικές θέσεις, ο μεν Πρόεδρος επιδίδεται σε κωμικές εκκλήσεις για ενότητα, ο δε Στυλιανίδης κτενίζεται για ευρωβουλευτής. Κι ο Ι. Κασουλίδης; Ποιος… Κασουλίδης;

Dear Sirs,
I refer to your article “Obama’s Secret Weapon Against Putin’s Crimea Vote?” by Richard Miniter (Contributor) posted online 17 March 2014.
For an American prestigious publication such as yours it is demeaning the least to accommodate such an insult to common sense and dignity.
Your contributor claims to “investigate foreign policy and national security issues” however, it is a million dollar question on what kind of investigation he based his writing in order to produce this article of his. With no respect to International Law and International Court decisions.
The Republic of Cyprus was invaded by Turkey in July and August 1974 and since those two brutal and barbaric Turkish invasions, 37% of its territory is under continued Turkish invasion and occupation. As a result, almost 200,000 Greek Cypriots were forcibly uprooted from their land and homes leaving in the process almost 6,000 killed, 1619 missing and well over 500 Christian churches and cemeteries desecrated, destroyed, vandalized, looted and turned into mosques, night clubs and stables. Mr. Ozdil Nami is not the “foreign Minister of Cyprus” but a Turkish Cypriot leaving in the occupied by Turkey area of the Republic of Cyprus. He is part of the Turkish puppet regime of occupation under Ankara’s orders and command. This regime’s 1983 self-proclaimed independence was condemned by the International Community and the United Nations Security Council by its Resolutions 541/1983 and 550/1984.

1.Deplores the declaration of the Turkish Cypriot authorities of the purported secession of part of the Republic of Cyprus.
2. Considers the declaration referred to above as legally invalid and calls for its withdrawal
3. Calls for the urgent and effective implementation of its resolutions 365 (1974) and 367 (1975)…
6. Calls upon all States to respect the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-alignment of the Republic of Cyprus.
7. Calls upon all States not to recognise any Cypriot state other than the Republic of Cyprus…

No country in the world recognises the regime of occupation apart from Turkey.
The Republic of Cyprus joined the European Union on 1 May 2004 but the EU acquis is pending over the occupied area due to the continued Turkish invasion and occupation.
The Republic of Cyprus joined the Eurozone on 1 January 2008.
The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus is Mr. Ioannis Kassoulides and its President Mr. Nicos Anastasiades.
All discovered fields of natural gas in the territorial waters of the Republic of Cyprus belong to the Cypriot state (Republic of Cyprus) and are dealt with by its Government and Ministers and nobody else. And certainly there are no plans whatsoever to create a pipeline linking Turkey with Cyprus. These are well known aggressive Turkish aspirations, ambitions and demands promoted by the Turks and those affiliated to their financial interests.
Your contributor’s article is a contemptuous distortion of facts that makes a mockery of proper investigative journalism. A total and unprecedented disgrace to decent, proper and factual investigative journalism. It promoted ruthless Turkish propaganda, pure and simple.
The only explanation one can think of for such a contemptuous writing towards a country member of the British Commonwealth, United Nations, European Union, Council of Europe and its officials, is if a generous Turkish golden handshake has interfered as the source.
I would expect an establishment such as yours to take the necessary steps to retract and redress.

Comment sent 19.3.2014 to FORBES magazine by Washington based attorney Nicholas G. Karambelas, concerning erroneous and misleading assertions included in the magazine's article below:
"You claim to investigate foreign policy and national security issues. Well, investigate this: Odzil Nami is most definitely not the foreign minister of Cyprus . He is at best a functionary of the Turkish administration, referred to as the "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)",which operates in that portion of the Republic of Cyprus which Turkey occupies since it invaded Cyprus in 1974. Although the TRNC claims to be a nation state, no country in the world except Turkey recognizes the TRNC as a nation state. The US , the UN, the EU, 2 international courts and every other nation in the world recognize only the Republic of Cyprus as the lawful sovereign government authority on the island of Cyprus . The Republic of Cyprus was established as an independent and sovereign nation in 1960. The foreign minister of Cyprus is Ioannis Kassoulides. Your investigative skills are sadly lacking."
