On his Twitter feed Sunday, syndicated columnist, The Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro, and host of “The Ben Shapiro Show” warned that we’re about “five minutes away from a full-scale Sunni/Shia war in the Middle East.”

“This weekend puts us about five minutes away from a full-scale Sunni/Shia war in the Middle East,” tweeted Ben Shapiro in response to a tweet by AP White House Reporter Zeke Miller.

Zeke Miller’s tweet reads as follows:

“DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) – Saudi Arabia blames Iran for Yemen missile launch, warns it could be ‘considered as an act of war’”

Ben Shapiro’s Twitter remark on the Zeke Miller tweet came after numerous events took place in Saudi Arabia over the weekend, including: the arrest of dozens on charges of corruption, the accusation from the Saudis that Iran is to blame for a missile attack on the kingdom’s second-busiest airport, and the Lebanese Prime Minister resigned on Saturday during a trip to Saudi Arabia.

Today, Shapiro reiterated his warning on his daily podcast on Facebook live “The Ben Shapiro Show.” You can listen to more of his remarks there.

Below is a transcript of Shapiro’s warning from his show Monday:

“Mysterious happenings in Saudi Arabia, and it looks a lot like ‘The Godfather’ basically. Okay, it looks essentially like Michael Corleone cleaning, Michael Corleone basically cleaning up, cleaning up events after his dad dies, right? I mean, Clemenza’s going around shooting people in elevators is basically what’s happening here.

“So, over the weekend, all of these events happened. I’m going to tell you about the events and why I think they’re happening and what I think is going on.

“We could be five minutes away from a full-on Saudi Sunni vs. Iranian Shia internal Middle East conflict. We could be looking at another war in the Middle East in very short order, and there’s a significant possibility the United States ends up dragged into it in some way. So I think it’s important stuff.”
